He is deeply involved in designing and optimizing biocatalytic enzymes to advance industrial biotechnology solutions and plays a key role in enhancing cell-free systems with innovative approaches. His role emphasizes innovative approaches in enzyme engineering and synthetic biology to create cutting-edge biocatalytic systems. Originally from Cologne, Germany, Julian Ramelow earned a BS in Biology from Nova Southeastern University and a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from Florida International University, where he made notable contributions to vaccine development. Outside of work, he enjoys producing electronic/dance music, traveling, and following his favorite soccer team Bayer 04 Leverkusen.
